• April is for Arts - North Mecklenburg celebrates art with an annual multi-artist festival. April is for Arts is a celebration of art and culture throughout April, where visitors can enjoy artists' exhibitions, demonstrations, food, and live music.
• Dragon Boat Race and Asian Festival - Save the date for the Annual Charlotte Dragon Boat Race & Asian Festival in May. This festival, held at Ramsey Creek Park, celebrates many Asian cultures, diversity, ethnicity, and history. Visitors can enjoy a cultural heritage showcase, retail vendors, live music, dance performances, traditional meals, and exciting dragon boat races.

Places to Visit

While there are many amazing places to visit near Lake Norman, these are a few you will want to enjoy during the spring.

Carolina Raptor Center - Visit the Carolina Raptor Center, attend one of its events, and view the remarkable raptors that make this center famous. The center is open seasonally, beginning in March.

• Quest - This is a fun and interactive nature experience in Latta Nature Preserve. Quest features its own raptor center, an indoor exhibit hall, and self-guided activities.
• Parks - There are a myriad of parks to explore near Lake Norman. Lake Norman State Park, Ramsey Creek Park, Parham Park, and Jetton Park are just a few.

Shopping

• Davidson Farmers Market - The Davidson Farmers Market is in full swing starting in the spring. Shop a variety of vendors, from hand-made crafts to local produce, every Saturday, 9:00 am-12:00 pm.
• Breweries & Wineries - Say “yes” to outdoor seating and sipping local beer or wine. King Canary Brewing Co. and Davesté Vineyards are just two for you to choose from.
